Elbert Insurance Agency and Brazoria Insurance Agency are staffed with competent professionals. Each of the Customer Service Representatives are licensed and trained in the insurance needs of the Gulf Coast area. Continuing professional education is a priority. The majority of the staff has received their Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designation from the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas Association. The staff has over 75 years of cumulative commercial and personal lines insurance services.
Steve Elbert, President and Executive Officer, of both agencies continues a three-generation tradition of Elbert Insurance. Steve served as a Marine in Operation Desert Storm. Upon completion of his military service he studied economics at the University of Texas, Austin. He joined the family’s insurance agency in 1997 and worked with his father, James Elbert, for 12 years before assuming the role of President and Executive Officer. Steve has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. He continues his professional education yearly with courses on risk management, agency operations, and specific insurance coverages.
Steve is active in the Brazosport Rotary and in 2006 was named a Paul Harris Fellow. In 2009, he was named Rotarian of the Year.
Steve is active in the Boy Scouts of Brazoria County and serves on various committees within the Cradle of Texas District of the Bay Area Council.
Steve served on the Dow Chemical Citizen Advisory Board from 2006-09.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Memorial Child Care Center in Freeport, Texas, since 2004.
Steve lives in Lake Jackson.
